The aim of the BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Business course is to provide you with an in-depth understanding of how businesses work and how they affect the world around them. The course also aims to equip you with the key skills you will require to succeed in employment or to progress on to a more advanced course – usually the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business.

You will study a range of units that will include all or some of the following topics:

  • Business Organisations
  • Financial Forecasting for Business
  • People in Organisations

Throughout each unit your teachers will support you in developing your knowledge and understanding of the different concepts and theories related to each topic. They will also help you develop the key skills you will need to perform a range of business related tasks.

Assessment for this course is mostly coursework, but with the new BTECs, up to 25% of your grade will be awarded from an external assessment set by the Awarding organisation. You internal assessment will be in a variety of ways including; written reports, posters, individual and group presentations, role plays and projects.

Students who do not yet have a GCSE grade C in both English and Maths will also study GCSE in English and/or Maths.
